How a simple user friendly twitter advanced search saved thousands of lives

Pandemic is undoubtedly a difficult time to live in. But some of the difficulties we face during these times can be relieved by extremely elimentary and simplistic solutions. Umang Galaiya, a 25 year old young lad has showcased proved it. He saw people asking for genuine leads on covid related resources on his twitter feed. On the other hand, he was seeing various posts where people were ready with such resources such as oxygen cylinders, remdesivir injection etc. So, both buyers and sellers were there in the marketplace still the transactions were not happening as they were not able to communicate.

A lot of those queries and requirements would have been fulfilled if the seekers could have used the twitter advanced search feature appropriately. The reason a lot of them couldn’t owed to their lack of technical know-how of the platform. Umang decided to bridge this gap. He created a website with a few user friendly search templates. It enabled even naive or not-so-often twitter user to make the advanced search on twitter. And because twitter is an ever growing repository updating real-time, it is way more efficient to use it as a backend resource than to create a new backend resource directory in timely manner in the midst of a pandemic. Sometimes great solutions are always in front of us but sad part is they don’t come with the subject line “Great Solutions inside”. It is only in the hindsight that how great a simple solution can turn out to be.
